My UCM :)

  I decided to sign up for the Leadership Impact Retreat a few weeks ago. Like it says in the name, it made an impact on me. The main idea behind the retreat was to figure out what kind of leader I am. They wanted us to focus on ourselves and figure out our strengths and weaknesses. We were divided into 6 different groups or teams. I was team 3. Each group had about 4 or 5 freshmen and one leader. The leaders were usually juniors or seniors. My group consisted of Kenny, our leader, Madison, Carrie, and Rosa. We all had different personalities but we got along very well. On the first day we got to know each other and we did many ice breakers. The ice breakers helped us open up to each other. After that, we had a couple of educational sessions. In the sessions, we were informed about the meaning behind Impact. It’s for all of us leaders to grow. The last thing of the night was a motivational speech from Zachary Racy.   Freshman Kickoff       Game Night :) My first campus activity or social event was the first week of school. I attended Freshman Kickoff. I really enjoyed it because it was my introduction to college life. Kick off started the 13th of August. We moved in on Thursday, the first day, which was a very hot and long day. It took about 3 hours to get all my things moved in. Luckily, I had my parents to help me. After move in, we had dinner in Ellis. I ate with my friend, Timmy. I did not enjoy Ellis and it is across campus from my dorm. I don’t usually eat at Ellis, but I eat at Todd. The next few days we attended sessions where some people talked to us. They recommended that we get involved and always attend class. All the freshmen also attended the convocation. The convocation was an assembly for all us on the quad.
